Meet the Interns.

  • Julia Montgomery

    Middlebury College

    Julia Montgomery is a junior at Middlebury College majoring in International Studies with concentrations in immigration and Latin America. At school, she is an intern for the Rohatyn Center for Global Affairs and a regular volunteer with local social service organizations. She is dedicated to better understanding interconnected social issues and uplifting disadvantaged communities. Julia brings to this internship a critical lens to reviewing legislation, thorough research skills and an eagerness to expand her perspective. 

  • Dylan Stark

    Francis W. Parker Charter School

    Dylan Stark is a senior at the Francis W. Parker Charter School in Devens, MA. Serving in student government, Dylan championed proposal to bring ranked-choice voting to his school’s elections. He also serves as the Captain of Parker’s Mock Trial team, an interest he hopes to continue in his future studies. Dylan is particularly interested in transportation policy and regional planning, and the many intersections between those areas. Through his eagerness to learn and passion for activism and justice, he aims to contribute meaningfully to legislative initiatives and those impacted by them. 

  • Suravi Bhatia

    Acton-Boxborough Regional High School

    Suravi Bhatia is a rising senior at Acton-Boxborough Regional High School located in Acton, Massachusetts. Bhatia possesses extensive experience in public policy and advocacy on various topics, with a primary focus on educational equity and civic engagement among young people. She is driven by the belief that education can address critical societal issues, from civic disengagement to racial injustice, by training the next generation of students to understand and engage with topics of interest. That core belief is reflected in her work as a legislative intern with Representative Sena. Suravi aspires to contribute to and learn more about the legislative process, furthering her contributions to legislative initiatives. She hopes to pursue a career in law and U.S. politics while supporting grassroots advocacy initiatives. 

  • Diksha Mhatre

    Acton-Boxborough Regional High School

    Diksha (she/her) is a rising senior at Acton-Boxborough Regional High School and is passionate about advocacy, civic engagement, and government. At school, she is involved in student government and activism organizations including Student Council and the Anti-Defamation League. She plans to major in public policy and hopes to gain hands-on experience as a Youth Advisory Board Member with the Department of Public Health and as an intern in Representative Sena's office.

  • Julia Karwacki

    Suffolk University

    Julia Karwacki is a First-Generation Junior studying Political Science and Economics at Suffolk University. She has experience in student leadership and community engagement, including serving as the Secretary of Suffolk’s Student Government Association. Additionally, she has hands-on experience in operation management and communication through previous roles as an Intern for the State of Connecticut, Lieutenant Governor's Office. With a passion for law and politics, particularly with her background in European and American contexts and returning from her semester abroad, Julia aspires to contribute to impactful legislative initiatives and further her career in U.S. politics, immigration advocacy and policy making.

  • Charles Goodchild

    University of Massachusetts Amherst

    Charles Goodchild is a political science and communications student at UMass Amherst committed to public service and community advocacy. As a leader in student government and campus organizations, he has championed initiatives to improve access to education, promote equitable policies, and create sustainable solutions to support his peers. With a background in grassroots organizing, legislative outreach, and communications, Charles strives to make a meaningful impact by fostering inclusivity and helping others.

  • Sonya Pesselev

    Boston University

    Sonya Pesselev is a Boston University junior majoring in Public Relations and minoring in Statistics. She actively engages in various campus organizations, including the Public Relations Student Society. Additionally, she has gained practical experience in social media marketing through her internship at Neon Flux. With a strong passion for politics and communication, Sonya aims to contribute to impactful legislative initiatives by fostering open and transparent dialogue while advancing her career in public relations.
